Level 2

HiRecruitment & Training has access to a diverse range of level 2 online distance-learning courses, all of which are fully funded by the Government’s Adult Education Budget (AEB) and available free of charge to learners across England. Learners need to meet the following eligibility criteria to be enrolled onto these courses:
• Aged 19 or over as of the start of the academic year (31st August on the year of application),
• Living in England or Scotland for at least the past 3 years for reasons other than study.
• Not currently enrolled on any other educational qualification.

Mental Health Awareness

This qualification aims to raise awareness of mental health and a range of mental health conditions. The objectives of this qualification are to prepare learners for further training and to support a role in the workplace. This qualification is designed for any learner that wants to raise their awareness of mental health and the problems that can cause mental ill health.

These may be learners who wish to access this training with a view to progressing to further qualifications or employment within health and social care, to complement other qualifications in apprenticeship frameworks within health or health and social care, or to develop in their current job role within health and social care.



Mental Health First Aid and Advocacy in the Workplace

The purpose of this qualification is to give learners the skills to support colleagues with mental health problems. These skills will be gained by increasing the learner’s knowledge and
understanding of mental health conditions and the principles of mental health first aid and how this can be implemented in the workplace.

This qualification is suitable for learners who wish to raise awareness of mental health, creating a culture of care and the promotion of positive mental health. This qualification gives
learners the opportunity to understand mental health, its associated care and how this can be applied to learners or colleagues in the workplace.
This qualification aims to:
• focus on the study of mental health first aid and mental health advocacy in the workplace
• offer breadth and depth of study of mental health first aid.
The objectives of this qualification are to:
• introduce and explore different types of mental ill health, and factors that may increase the risk of mental ill health in individuals
• understand how to support individuals with mental ill health within boundaries of own role
• explore how to create a mentally healthy environment for individuals in a variety of settings.


Customer Service

This course is designed for learners aged 19 or over, who wish to develop their knowledge of customer service. It is ideal for those who are already employed in a customer service role, who wish to study the programme as part of their own continuous professional development or for those who wish to improve their understanding to increase their opportunities of finding work. You will need to have at least a Level 1 qualification in literacy as you will be expected to write answers for assessment purposes.
This qualification provides the underpinning knowledge required by employees to work in a range of customer service roles. Learners will have essential knowledge of how to carry out tasks such as managing information and supporting events.


Lean Management

This qualification aims to improve business performance through continuous professional development of employees and their skill set.

The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to:
• understand lean organisation techniques in business
• know and understand business improvement tools and techniques
• know and understand how to work effectively in a business team
• access the business sector or progress to further qualifications and learning.

This qualification is designed for:
• learners working in a business improvement role who wish to assess their knowledge and understanding through a formal certification route
• learners new to business improvement who need to confirm practical understanding and application of skills
• those involved in a business, at all levels, who require a fundamental understanding of business improvement practices.

This qualification is ideal for employees working in areas where the need for improvements to quality, processes and costs has been identified. It may also be suitable for those individuals looking to enter employment; this qualification will provide an underpinning knowledge and skill set that will be attractive to employers.


Business Administration
This course is designed for learners aged 19 or over, who wish to develop their knowledge of business administration. It is ideal for those who are already employed in a business administration role.
You will need to have at least a Level 1 qualification in literacy as you will be expected to write answers for assessment purposes.
This qualification aims to provide learners with the underpinning knowledge that is required by employees to work in a range of different environments in a business administration role.
The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to:
• develop essential knowledge of how to carry out administrative tasks such as how to manage information and supporting events, and
• know how to apply their knowledge in a variety of industries and job roles.


Team Leading
This qualification is designed for learners who want the knowledge and understanding required to successfully lead a team. This will focus on the study of leading a team in a business environment.
The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to:
• develop their knowledge of the principles of team leading
• develop their understanding of business
• develop the knowledge needed to support communication with a range of stakeholders at different levels.


Equality and Diversity
This qualification aims to:
• introduce the concepts of equality and diversity in a variety of environments including society, the community and the workplace
• highlight how stereotyping and labelling affect individuals

• outline the effects of prejudice and discrimination
• allow the learner to examine rights and responsibilities
• stress the importance of taking individual responsibility and action to help and support others
• provide a basis for further study and/or career development.

The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to:
• raise their awareness of the issues surrounding equality and diversity
• apply this awareness through their actions in society, community and the workplace.

This qualification is suitable for both young and adult learners, including those in or seeking employment. They’re also ideal for those who need to develop an awareness of issues surrounding equality and diversity, for example as part of an induction programme or personal development.


Data Protection and Security

The purpose of this qualification is to allow learners to demonstrate understanding of data protection and data security. It will help learners progress to a work role where data protection and data security knowledge is required.
The objectives of this qualification are to enable learners to:
• understand current data legislation
• understand steps organisations might take to help protect data
• understand how to protect their own data
• understand how to protect ICT systems from common threats
• understand the consequences of not protecting data and systems.

To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Data Protection and Data Security, learners are required to successfully complete all four mandatory units:
• Understanding current data protection legislation
• Understanding organisational procedures concerning data
• Understanding threats to ICT systems and data
• Understanding the consequences of not protecting data
